The Sabine County Economic Development Advisory Council (SCEDAC) held a meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Sabine County courthouse and Judge Melton and Charlie Dromgoole shared lots of interesting news concerning Sabine County.

The Lady Tigers made the short trek south to Jasper to kick off their playoffs against the Big Sandy Wildcats in the bi-district round April 25. It was a nip and tuck affair throughout as neither team would seize the game by the throat and make it theirs. Big Sandy would go up 7-5 in the top of the sixth, but West Sabine made it 7-6 entering the final frame setting up a dramatic finish. After knotting it up at seven apiece, Madison Williamson had the hit of a lifetime as she ripped the game winning single up the middle for the 8-7 win in game one. Katie Lindow picked up the win in the circle while also cracking her team leading fifth HR, a majestic blast over the left center field wall in the first inning.
