When Matthew Edgar left the courtroom last Tuesday after formal sentencing, he was immediately taken to Huntsville for intake processing at the Byrd Unit of the Texas Department of Corrections. His information was added to the website for Texas Inmate Search on January 5th.

After we were contacted by Sabine County Sheriff’s office last night concerning the arrest of fugitive Matthew Edgar, we immediately began to reach out to Ms. Darci Bass, the mother of victim, Livye Heathyr Lewis. Bass had recently updated her cell phone number and our contact info was out of date. Gratefully, this morning, we were able to speak to her by phone and her reaction was one of both shock and relief.
