The SETX High School Fishing Association held their championship tournament on April 30 / May 01 on lake Sam Rayburn with weight – in at Umphrey Pavilion. SETX is a premier high school tournament trail that has paid out over $200K in cash and prizes just this year alone allowing high schoolers to compete and hone their bass fishing skills.

A total of 398 teams competed, with 276 teams weighing in fish. A total of 1,918 fish weighing a total of 4,112.58 pounds hit the scales, and 1,804 were released alive. That’s a 94% live release rate, which is pretty good with these warming temperatures.

These tournaments are good clean fun, and our kids are learning to compete, good sportsmanship, and conservation.

Congratulations to all our young anglers!
