According to a press release from the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy received information at approximately 8:15 p.m. that a shooting had taken place at a residence along Bronson Cemetery Road. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a small pool of blood in the driveway, but no individuals were present at the location.
Investigators were later able to locate two witnesses who reported that a man identified as Todd Stevens, 36, of Bronson, allegedly shot another man believed to be Cody Thompson, 43, of Burkeville. The truck is described as a 1990s model Chevrolet extended cab pickup, white in color, with primer on the passenger side, bondo on the roof over the passenger door, and a bright yellow spray-painted tailgate. Authorities say the vehicle may be displaying a temporary Texas license plate.
