Editor’s Note: Chad Warner has authorized the Sabine County Reporter to announce his candidacy for Commissioner Precinct 4. As a participant in the newspaper’s Political Calendar, following is a statement issued by Warner.

It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I,Chad Warner, formallv announce my candidacy for the office of Commissioner for Precinct 4 in the 2026 election. For the past fortyseven years, this community has been my home, and the well-being and prosperity of our precinct has always been at the heart of my life's journey.

I am proud to carry forward a family tradition of service. My father, Fayne Warner, dedicated sixteen years to this very office as Precinct 4 Commissioner, and his legacy has inspired my own commitment to our community. Following in his footsteps, I have gained hands-on experience serving Sabine County in the early 2000s, where I spent several years operating heavy equipment and maintaining our roads. I had the privilege of learning the art of blading from Jamie 'Cool breeze' Edwards, whose mentorship remains invaluable to me I was honored to work for San Augustine County Precinct 1, serving under Tommy Pickard for seven years. Throughout my lifelong career in construction and county work, I have developed a keen understanding of how to manage limited budgets effectively and have collected practical skills that I am eager to place in the service of our precinet.

My decision to seek office is driven by a sincere desire to share what I have learned over the years and to make a positive impact on the environment and quality of life in Precinct 4. I have been meeting with many of you, listening to your concerns and hopes.

For those whom I have not yet had the opportunity to visit, please know that I look forward to speaking with you. I am readily available for your questions and input--feel free to contact me by text or by calling 936-201-2740.

If granted the honor to serve, my priorities will focus on addressing the needs of those who have not received enough attention, particularly in our subdivisions, many of which require substantial improvements. I have already begun collaborating with community members to seek solutions to these issues, and I am committed to making every effort possible to see our concerns addressed.

One area of vital importance is the potential reopening of 9 Mile Road. As you know, this route is essential, especially shouldanything happen to Holly Park Bridge, the only current means of exit. The safety and accessibility of our roads remain paramount and I am dedicated to advancing solutions that will serve our entire communitv Although we often hear that financial constraints limit our options, I believe we can accomplish much with the resources already available by utilizing existing materials, regularly maintaining our ditches. and focusing on diligent upkeep, we can make meaningtul progress even within a modest budget.

As your candidate, Chad Warner, I respectfully ask for your trust, support. and vote in the 2026 election. Together, we can strengthen Precinct 4 and ensure it remains a place we are all proud to call home. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please remember me as you cast your ballot. May God bless each of you, and may God bless Sabine County.
