Editor’s Note: Dale Wilkerson has authorized the Sabine County Reporter to announce his candidacy for Hemphill ISD Board Trustee, Position 4, As a participant in the newspaper’s Political Calendar, following is a statement issued by Wilkerson
My name is Dale Wilkerson, and I am running for Hemphill School Board Trustee, Position 4. My wife, Stephanie and I have raised our children in this community. Our son Logan is a 2020 HHS graduate and our daugher Laken is finishing up her senior year for the Hornets. We are members of The Refuge Church of Milam and love our hometown. We own L&L Fencing and have some excellent Hornet alumni working with us and doing a great job. It is important to maintain the excellence that Hemphill schools are known for, and for this reason, I want to serve our students and teachers to ensure that standards are high and we are creating the best environment for success in the real world. This is acheived by working together to keep highly-qualified educators in the classrooms and compassionate, strong coaches on the field and floor. Academics and athletics, band, UIL, FFA as well as other school programs are paramount in shaping all-around, hard-working community members. I will work to support them all.
