Editor’s Note: Terance Corley has authorized the Sabine County Reporter to announce his candidacy for  Hemphill ISD Board Trustee, Position 4, As a participant in the newspaper’s Political Calendar, following is a statement issued by Corley.

My name is Terance Corley, and I am running for school boardseat #4. My wife and I were both born and raised here inHemphill. I graduated from Hemphill High School in 1990. After graduating, I attended Paola College where I obtained a certificate in Forestry. In 2000, I started working at the Texas A&M Forest Service where I continue to work as a firefighter. I have served on the Go Texan Committee representing Sabine County for the past 15 years. I have also had the privilege of serving on the Hemphill Hornet Bass Club board since 2014 as a board member and boat captain for students. My wife and I have been married for 26 years. We have 2 children that graduated from Hemphill ISD, and I have 2 grandchildren who will be attending this school. My wife is currently employed at Hemphill ISD as a teacher. My goals would include addressing the concerns and interests of teachers and parents in order to improve the quality of our school system for the current and future students.
