Rose Marie McCary died April 15, 2024, in Lufkin. She was born on August 26, 1958 in San Augustine, to JM and Geneva Lorene McCary. Rose was raised in Sabine County and attended school at West Sabine. She worked many years at Temple Inland. Even though she lived in other areas, she eventually returned to Sabine County. Gardening was her favorite hobby and often her yard was the envy of the block. Rose was a kid at heart and spending time with her grandchildren gave her a reason to go all out and spoil them rotten.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Basil and Dan McCary.

She is survived by her children, Joseph and Misty Stewart of Lufkin, Brandon Stewart of Alaska, Renee and Rocco Anzano of Alaska, and Geneva Vaughn of Pineland. Rose adored her grandchildren Hunter, Addison, Chase, Aubrey, Hadlee, Penelope, Anna, Emma, Renlee, and Maverick. She is also survived by her sisters, Earline Boyd and Dixie Smith.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, TX from 5:30-7:30. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home.
