What a Season it was...

Body
Both Brookeland squads hit their respective diamonds this past weekend looking to extend their seasons in Hudson. The LadyCats took on the Neches Lady Tigers in a two out of three series beginning May 17 while the Wildcats took on the Chester Yellowjackets in a one game playoff the same day The LadyCats scratched and clawed as best they could vs. Neches, but a three run fifth inning for the Lady Tigers would seal their fate in Game One as they fell 6-2. The next day Neches would stymie their bats once again, limiting the ladies to one run and four hits in a 3-1 series winning victory in Game Two. The LadyCats had a fantastic season and in my opinion they will be right back in the regional final next season because of their young, talented nucleus of players. They remind this writer of a certain group of Lady Tigers at West Sabine from 2018-2021, a scrappy, talented bunch with a lethal lineup 1-9 and solid pitching in the circle. The future is indeed bright for this group of ladies.

Braving the rain and lightening on Sunday they brought in another 5 fish limit weighing 12.38 lbs., for a 2 day total of 22.45 lbs. Congratulations to Kane and Caden for a job well done!

Lady Tigers in a classic with Colmesneil and earn playoff berth

Body
Both Tiger squads hit the road last week to take on longtime rivals Colmesneil April 16. The ladies hit the field first, and it was a pitchers duel the entire way. The game went into extra innings scoreless before West Sabine finally broke the ice in the top of the 11th as Katie Lindow singled home Gracie Ross and Emma Bennett then singled home Lindow.
